Individual Mental Health Counseling

Any client who is ready to make a change to improve their quality of life will benefit from this service. Issues addressed range from mental disorders such as depression or anxiety to life transitions such as divorce, loss of a loved one or a job, stress around financial difficulties, and also trauma and relationship difficulties. We help clients process acculturation issues, learn boundary setting, improve their communication skills, and develop positive and effective social skills. Client will undergo a brief intake assessment on the first session and a treatment plan will be developed, which will include the number of sessions agreed upon.

Couples Counseling

Trauma, violence, addiction, inability to appropriately communicate or loss may affect several areas of one’s life, which consequently will influence the way they relate to their partner. Same or different-sex couples will benefit from this service if they are invested in improving a growing relationship. Codependency, conflict-resolution, and communication difficulties are some of the issues that may be addressed in this specialty of counseling.

Family Counseling

The entire family receives counseling once a week for a minimum of 12 weeks. This targets the entire family, using the premise that the behavior of any one member can better be understood by examining the context or family system in which it occurs. An ongoing assessment of family functioning, strengths and needs is directed toward identifying, for each family, which particular combination of these factors contributes to the referral problem and/or can be used as levers for change and emotional support. Our goal is to tailor interventions to the particular strengths and needs of the parent, family and their social ecology.
